2020 was not the year to launch a business

My primary aim for 2020 was to be able to officially launch my photography business. Unfortunately, like a lot of you, I had no idea what 2020 had in store for us. I was completely blindsided and confused by the Covid-19 pandemic. To maintain my sanity, I spent my lockdown time training Krav Maga via Zoom and grinding away at the 9-5. One thing I learned

This year, especially, the power of connection has been brought to light. In the past, I relied heavily on networking and social gathering to promote my businesses. As a result of Covid-19 precautions, any in person networking ground to a halt >>> and with, it all the valuable business opportunities shared by personal interaction. Even though I use a telephoto lens and maintain a good focus distance, 2020 was not the year to launch a strictly in-person business that relies heavily on word of mouth advertising and community connection.

Never stop moving forward

Just like the mountain path above, the end is not clearly in sight. We could face another wave of the virus and more lockdowns and all that. But, I am not giving up on this business and will be launching Shoot with Shane in 2021. Why? Because I love photography and you beautiful people need me to capture those moments in your life that carry you through years like 2020.
